This dog and family-friendly holiday market is one of my favorites in Paris. Intimate and full of Christmas magic, the marché is set amongst a forest of sparkling fir trees and oversized ornaments. Tables and seating are nestled amongst wooden chalets featuring seasonal delicacies, hot chocolate, vin chaud, and other delicious treats.
At night, the scene comes alive with a magnificent light show display against the stunning and iconic Hôtel de Ville. The Hôtel de Ville is the city hall of Paris, France. The south wing was originally constructed by François I beginning in 1535 until 1551. The north wing was built by Henry IV and Louis XIII between 1605 and 1628.
There are games for children, such as toboggan rides, a rock climbing wall, and my favorite for young and old – the carousel. The “Belle Epoque” is a double-decker style carousel is owned by the Frechon family. The owner is 78 years old, and this magnificent and historical ride is her only income. Parisian scenes are depicted on the panels.
Santa will be attending his booth and welcoming children (and dogs!) on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The 2022 Paris City Hall Christmas Village will be open from December 2, 2022, to January 1, 2023. The chalets and carousel are open to the public every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Climbing and sledding activities are available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
During school holidays, activities are open every day from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Lights at the village will be turned off at 11:45 p.m. due to the energy crisis.
