Day Fourteen and I share with you a little sidesho…

Day Fourteen and I share with you a little sideshow carnival-style as performers at the marché Noël du Notre-Dame-de-Paris takes us back in time.

So far, this little market has been my favorite. But you know me! I love rustic, small, authentic spaces that ooze French charm and ambiance. I am not looking for glitz and glam this season. Just a place to tuck into and enjoy the sights, smells, sounds, and comfort of a holiday season we missed so very much last year.

I’ll take you back for a full tour of the marché. But these musicians stole the show and my attention as I was cutting through my favorite off-street path. Where am I?

In the shadows of Notre Dame.

and where the oldest tree in France lives!

Square René Viviani.

This petite park is adjacent to the Gothic church of Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre and built at the same time as Notre Dame. Sitting in her shadows, this happens to be one of the oldest churches in France. Thankfully, she wasn’t affected by the revolution, and here we all stand, entirely transported back in time, next to a tree planted in 1601.

Magical.
