Sustainable Hotels In Paris: Eco-Responsible Travel Choices
The new article design protects a story’s authorship, source context, visual record and connected reading without interrupting the pleasure of reading it.

This program offers an audit and themed workshops to help hoteliers enhance their sustainability practices in the areas of environment, social responsibility, and society. It's part of the Charter for Sustainable Accommodation in Paris, which was launched in June 2012 and currently has 467 signatories.

The participating hotels commit to doing their best to promote sustainable development goals in their in-house management and in all their dealings with others, whether it be through transparency, ethics, compliance with laws, or respect for human rights. They also work to reduce water and energy use, recycle waste, implement an eco-responsible purchasing policy, and make their suppliers and staff aware of their sustainability policies.
Moreover, these hotels welcome disabled guests in the best possible conditions and offer them appropriate information on accessibility to tourism establishments and activities. They also improve working conditions for their staff and promote their well-being at work.
Finally, they aim to promote the natural and cultural heritage of the Paris region, while measuring their progress, durably implementing their policies, and publicizing their efforts.
The participating hotels also inform their guests of their sustainability goals and encourage them to participate in green efforts during their stay. We applaud this initiative and hope that it inspires other hotels around the world to embrace sustainability practices.
