Where to Stay: @hoyparis

Excerpt from my magazine, the Paris Quarterly, Winter 2021 Edition.

The future of hospitality design has arrived in the form of a holistic hotel.
Located in the heart of Paris, in the middle of the famous foodie street Rue des Martyrs in the 9th arrondissement, Hotel HOY aims to cultivate the power of the present moment, the art of living well and eating well.

As I pushed open the doors from the bustling streets of Paris, I was immediately comforted by the space. Soft, creamy paint colors, concrete floors, and terracotta light fixtures find a home in a reception area doubling as a florist shop. I feel at peace, greeted by whispy dried pampas grass and snake plants. The check-in desk flows into the restaurant bar, where house-made teas sit in ceramic pots.

The hotel is a meeting place around its core pillars and design concept: a minimalist room aesthetic focused on self-care, a plant-based restaurant, a yoga studio, treatment rooms & florist.

HOY takes a holistic approach to hospitality, promising to be a place of well-being and good living for Parisians and voyagers worldwide.

When you first walk into a chambre at HOY, the first words that come to mind are peace, comfort, minimalism, calm, and tranquility. The care for their customers is entirely evident from the hand-painted wall treatments to the handmade ceramic teacups. Instead of a television, you will find a ballet bar on the wall, with instructions for gentle stretches and poses to help you wake up in the morning and find a peaceful rest at night.

HOY believes being ecologically responsible is a choice. Food waste is recycled thanks to a partner chosen for its ethical and societal commitment. The property is entirely plastic-free. And they also work in partnership with small regional or foreign producers & artisans.
