When @aprilinparistours told me that Chablis has a fantastic SUNDAY farmer’s market, I was over the moon and cleared out my schedule to attend.
In rural France, some markets are seasonal and do not operate during the winter months. Even more rare is a marché held on a Sunday.
We loaded the girls and shopping baskets into the car and left @le_prieure for a day trip into town. As luck would have it, the rains gave way to blue skies as we wandered the stalls and streets of the Chablis Burgundian marché.
There were the traditional stalls like the roasted chicken guy, produce vendors and cheese mongers. But there were also regional delicacies such as andouillette sausage, gougères (a personal favorite), gorgeous winter mushrooms, and, of course, Chablis wine.
