It’s official, folks. I’m getting the heck outta dodge, and you’re coming with me. And this isn’t just an ordinary road trip – this is almost a month-long adventure that will take us on a big loop through France!

Starting Sunday, May 23rd, you and I will head south, cutting through the Loire valley. We’ll stop overnight at the gorgeous @chateau_de_bagnols, one of the most beautiful 5-star Château Hotel in France, located in the heart of the Beaujolais vineyards.

The next day, we move on to our primary destination: Arles, France (I took these photos at the Arles Roman Amphitheatre, Spring 2019), in the heart of Provence. We will use this location as our bouncing-off point to dig deep into the region for two weeks. We’ll go hiking, swimming, to wineries, museums, antique shopping, the famous markets of Aix-en-Provence and so much more!

After that, we continue on our route, working west and north. A brief stay in a house at the base of the ramparts will allow us to discover Carcassonne, a hilltop town in southern France’s Languedoc area. This village is famous for its medieval citadel, La Cité, with numerous watchtowers and double-walled fortifications.

We then drive north to the Bordeaux region. For five nights, we’ll be at a house surrounded by grand cru vineyards at the base of the famous Saint-Emilion village. The town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with fascinating Romanesque churches and ruins stretching all along steep and narrow streets.

Finally, we will spend the last week of our road trip on Ile de Re, a small island next to La Rochelle. It’s known for its salt marshes and beaches like the Plage de la Conche des Baleines.

At the end of the trip, we will land at my house in Bretagne. And continue with the rest of the summer, together, as I share the gorgeous Cotes d’Armor with you.

Does this sound like fun? If so, tag a friend who might want to join along in the comments below!

Bisous and big hugs 🤗 from France,
Shannon
