A Day in the Marais: Galleries & Good Eats, Paris, France.

Let’s say you want to take home some great art. Support artists. Perhaps you don’t want to hang out in a museum, but you want to want to see some fantastic art. Or maybe you want to be in the thick of the famous Marais district. Here’s a day itinerary that should fit the bill.
NOTE: Please double-check all gallery operating hours and for exceptional closures before going on this tour.
STOP 1: Starting at Hôtel de Ville (Metro stop: Hotel de Ville), walk up Rue du Temple to laïzé sainte-avoye @laizeparis for coffee. This TINY coffee shop is worth the hunt. And check out the stone - some claim that its part of the historic Philippe Auguste wall. 62 Rue du Temple, 75003 Paris

STOP 2: Marian Goodman Gallery. 79 Rue du Temple, 75003 Paris. @mariangoodmangallery has been a hub for European exhibitions, performances, and events for over 25 years. Their website is very comprehensive.
1 minute walk.
STOP 3: Galleria Continua. 87 Rue du Temple, 75003 Paris. An international contemporary art gallery founded in 1990, @galleriacontinua has locations in Rome, Sao Paulo, Dubai, and Paris.
Across the street, take a photo of the street mural and then enter...
STOP 4: Galerie Sabine Bayasli. 99 Rue du Temple, 75003 Paris. Quality artists, beautiful open space, and affordable prints for sale.
5 minute walk.
STOP 5: Rue Chapon. This street is full of galleries from one end to the other. Only two blocks in length, you’ll have many galleries to choose from. Don’t miss the Passage des Gravilliers, which is a hidden alley full of galleries.
Also, as you walk Rue Chapon, note that some galleries are behind big doors, but you can access the interior courtyard to visit the gallery.

STOP 6. End the tour at Auberge Nicolas Flamel, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris’s oldest house. 51 Rue de Montmorency, 75003 Paris. Reservations required.
