For those of you who are new here, hello! In honor of International Women’s Month, I am sharing the stories of four different women who lived and worked in France.
At this point in the story, we have discovered that Olympe de Gouges began her career as a playwright in the early 1780s. As political tension rose in France, Gouges became increasingly politically engaged. She became an outspoken advocate against the slave trade in the French colonies in 1788.
Today, let’s follow along as she continues to advocate for women’s rights and even gets Marie-Antoinette involved along the way. All episodes are available in my Instagram highlights and also on my YouTube channel.
Bisous and big hugs from France,
Shannon
