ROAD TRIP DAY SEVEN: Our dinner party last night with @myparisportraits & hubby was such a blast that we all lost track of time. 😆 Before we knew it, 1 AM had rolled around, and we all, bleary-eyed and with full bellies, set off to bed. 🥰🥰 This morning, Jeff and I regrouped and decided to postpone the two-hour RT drive to Aix-en-Provence and have a more leisurely start to our day.
It also happened to be market day in Arles, a quick 10-minute drive from the house. So, we loaded up the girls, our baskets and set off to find dinner supplies for tonight and Sunday (don’t forget that most grocery stores are closed on Dimanche!).
The market in Arles takes over the primary street leading into Arles center, right in front of the tourism office. The entire right side features vendors with clothing, hats, purses, jewelry, pottery, and more. The left side is dedicated to food, with one section tucked away with bio products.
After the market, we headed into a neighboring village that I have had my eye on. And boy, did it ever capture our hearts. To the point that I am in the process of opening up our schedule so we can spend more time exploring that immediate area. In the back of our minds, Jeff and I are considering the idea of “snowbirding” here and that village really spoke to us. So, as most slow travel goes, we are going to dig our heels in and immerse ourselves in this little micro area that we found today.
