Montmartre Tour in Black and White.
Now available on my YouTube channel. Link in bio or search for @thisfrench.life on YouTube.
I love wandering the streets of Paris. As a flâneuse, Paris is a series of secret passages, doors, spaces, and places still hidden in the city.
I like to spend a lot of time alone here. I find comfort in getting to know her over and over and over again.
Like a lover that ages gracefully with you, each year and decade that passes, we understand each other more intimately, with respect and time.
In this video, I took a visiting friend through Montmartre. We walked from one side of the hill to the other, winding our way through the historic streets and passages.
Sharing Paris in such a delicate and obscure fashion is also a way for me to see her in a different light, old memories and stories stripped to the bone, and we are meeting again for the first time.
Note: Yes, I went into Sacré Cœur, but sharing the church’s interior set to swing music seemed disrespectful. I feel like I barely pulled off the cemetery images for this set. I will likely share a full video of the cemetery and the church separately.
If you have read this far and are interested in a full-day itinerary, with every step I took, every place I ate at, every stop and precious moment on this Montmartre tour, then add your comment below. And I will be happy to create that for you, my darlings.
Thank you for being here and supporting me on my journey, and please share this with someone who might like this video. It helps!
Bisous and bon voyage,
Shannon
