Day Nineteen and I take you to two locations: The marché noël located next to Notre-Dame-de-Paris. And then I share the holiday lights our association put up on Ile Saint-Louis.

This Christmas market is unique and my personal favorite. Nestled in the Square René Viviani, right next to @shakespeareandcoparis and in the shadows of Notre Dame, you’ll find this intimate and quaint marché. You feel like you’ve stepped back in time as the market is relatively small but boasts lovely decorations, peaked tents, and performers of by-gone eras. I love that the stalls are a mix of food vendors like you would see at a traditional farmers market – a cheese stand, nougat, a charcuterie stand, olives & tapenades, and more. And sprinkled in amongst those are artisans selling beautiful handmade products. I especially loved the ceramic artist @maisongraslan and artiste cabaniste @davidmansot

This park was created in 1928 but is home to the oldest tree, a black locust in Paris, planted in 1601. The square is also located to the north and around the Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre church, built around the same time as Notre Dame, making it one of the oldest churches in Paris.

I hope you enjoy this petite tour. Bon Dimanche and happy holidays, everyone!

Bisous and big hugs from France,
Shannon

🇫🇷 France 🇫🇷, forever.
