Come with me to see the gigantic illuminated statues in the Jardin des Plantes light festival! I take you on a walk through the park during the day and at night, so you get both perspectives.
Every year, @le_museum hosts an evening light show walk. Massive animal statues are illuminated as soon as night falls in Paris. This year, in the paths of the Jardin des Plantes and the Ménagerie, more than a hundred new luminous structures take you on a journey through time.
The research and reconstruction work of the Museum’s paleontologists represent the astonishing species that have populated the Earth over the last 600 million years. Of course, there are dinosaurs, but little-known species surprised me with their beautiful fabric patterns and striking shapes.
“L’Évolution en voie d’illumination” (Evolution on the way to enlightenment) is an exhibition co-produced by the National Museum of Natural History and China Light Festival.
THE ORIGINS OF LIFE (FROM -3,700 TO -490 MILLION YEARS AGO)
The journey begins from Place Valhubert with an immersion in the Precambrian and Cambrian times.
PRIMARY ERA (FROM -490 TO -250 MILLION YEARS)
The route continues in the Paleozoic. Organisms adapt to the terrestrial environment: first small plants, then animals, notably insects and vertebrates.
SECONDARY ERA (FROM -250 TO -66 MILLION YEARS AGO)
In the Mesozoic, there was a boom in biodiversity, especially dinosaurs, who reigned supreme during the Jurassic and Cretaceous.
TERTIARY ERA (FROM -66 MILLION YEARS AGO TO THE PRESENT DAY)
The walk ends in the Cenozoic. Mammals have become dominant among terrestrial vertebrates and are increasingly diversified.
These light shows are generally offered from the end of November to the end of January. This show ends on January 30, 2022.
Bisous and big hugs from France,
