A Wisteria Walk on the Left Bank, Paris, France.
As promised, here is a day itinerary that includes the gardens of @mosqueeparis (see yesterday's post!). This agenda would be an excellent walking day itinerary from late April through mid-September.
Starting Point: Metro Stop Jussieu
Stop 1, 9 AM : Arènes de Lutèce & Square Capitan. Built between the 1st & 2nd centuries, the remains of this Roman amphitheater are a fascinating visit. You can still see the actors' dressing room location, the stage platform, and lapidary elements. The flowers & water feature at the adjacent square are so beautiful.
Stop 2, 9:45 AM : Nuance Café. Time for brunch! Great coffee. Try the pancakes or karaage Seoul bowl if you're craving something savory. Excellent chai latte. Alt milk options!
Stop 3: 11 AM : The gardens of the Grande Mosque. Please note that access is across from Square Robert Montagne.
Stop 4:, noon: If you prefer lunch, consider the Restaurant La Mosquée de Paris. They serve tangine stews, couscous, and grilled dishes in a stunning indoor/outdoor setting that feels like you were instantly transported to Morocco. Option 2: Head to Rue Mofftard to shop and eat at this famous food street.
Stop 5: Jardin des Plantes (68 acres of gardens & natural history museums) and 14 rue Cuvier. A humongous old wisteria vine covers the entire facade of 14 Rue Cuvier.
Stop 6: Esplandade Quai Saint-Bernard. Stroll along the Seine and enjoy the river-side gardens and salsa dancing.
Stop 7: Berthillon ice cream! Visiting the iconic main store is always fun, but I also love to stop at Le Flore en L'Ile, which has an ice cream stand outside the restaurant and makes amazing milkshakes too!
Stop 8: Au Vieux Paris d'Arcole (one of the oldest restaurants in Paris) has a colossal wisteria climbing across its 16th-century facade, and the owner decorates the outside with purple patio furniture & birdcages. Notre Dame de Paris is one block over.
Bon week-end, darlings!
